Why should you train with an IRIS approved instructor?

IRIS instructors are all dedicated, experienced and successful home redesign and/or home staging business owners. They are committed to excellency, consistency, visibility and integrity. They each offer five-day training programs in the redesign/staging concepts. Their course manuals are written according to a strict set of IRIS criteria. IRIS Instructors are held to the strictest standards in the Industry.

Experience is the best teacher…nothing compares with hands-on training. This is a craft that cannot be learned from a book or a video. You need hands-on experience to understand how everything fits together, like a jigsaw puzzle. Each of the real homes we redesign or stage has its own unique architecture, furnishings and style. This is where you gain the expertise to start your own business.

Our expertise, shared willingly, in the field of staging and redesign is unsurpassed with our collective experience of 26 years. Our staging school is the ONLY redesign/staging program in the country with three FULL days of hands-on training in 3 to 4 ENTIRE homes. We teach in every room of the house: family room, home offices, kitchens, bathrooms and children’s rooms, not just the living or dining rooms.

Upon completion, you will receive a certificate stating that you have completed a professional interior redesign training program and you will be eligible to join IRIS and become a Certified Redesigner and stager. If you choose to join IRIS, you will have a built-in network of redesigners and stagers to support and help you with different design dilemmas. IRIS also provides you with an on-line directory in which you can advertise your business and services.

Because there are two of us, the teacher to student ratio is lower. We each have our own unique areas of expertise to share on each project, including furniture placement, color, accessorizing, floral design, etc.

We have taught and mentored over 170 men and women from all walks of life. We offer continuous mentoring as long as our graduates need it to insure that they are successful in their own businesses.

Our credits include four segments of redesigning homes on HGTV’s “Decorating Cents”. We are both published authors. Our award-winning book, IRIS in the House is an anthology of great design ideas for the home. In addition, our work has been featured in “The Half Moon Bay Review”, a local magazine and Better Homes and Gardens. Our home staging service was featured in the San Francisco Chronicle’s Sunday real estate section. Additionally, we have contributed to a book on staging entitled 306 Simple Things You can Do to Sell your Home Now. We were also featured guests on KMVT’s “Colorful Journeys of Success.
